WHY IS LASH EXTENSION HYGIENE  SO IMPORTANT?

Poor hygiene can lead to serious eye infections, or bacteria building up on your extensions! When you clean your lashes regularly, you are helping to keep your natural oils at bay. Cleansing regularly also helps prevent premature lash shedding. Cleanse your lashes daily with our gentle, lash extension-friendly cleanser, and it's oil free, alcohol free, paraben free, and vegan! What some fail to realize is that lashes accumulate oil, water, dust, and debris throughout each day, and those substances can eventually cause the lashes to clump together, crisscross, or otherwise become unmanageable.

When cleaning your eye area to remove makeup and eyeshadow, we recommend applying the cleanser to our eyelash cleanser brush. Then, very gently wash in downward sweeping motions over the eyelid and lash line. Rinse your eyes with fresh water until all product is removed.

After cleaning your lashes, let them air dry, then use your lash wand to gently brush them back into their fluffy shape!

 LASH EXTENSION CARE TIPS

KEEP YOUR EYELASHES CLEAN

To avoid buildup, infections, and bacteria growth! This will also improve retention tremendously! By keeping your lashes cleaned, you are not only protecting yourself from bacteria and infections but you are removing all of your natural oils your skin produces that can cause premature lash extension fall out.

BENEFITS OF LASH SHAMPOO

Increases lash retention, removes oil and bacteria, removes makeup and prevents infection!

HOW DO I SLEEP WITH LASH EXTENSIONS?

When having lash extensions, it's important to try your best to sleep on your back for best retention! Sleeping on your side/face will cause lashes to pull, loose curl, and/or shed. If you are a face sleeper, for better retention purchase a silk pillowcase and a 3D eye make to protect your lashes!

WHY BRUSHING YOUR LASHES IS SO IMPORTANT

Brushing your lashes helps remove bacteria, dirt, debris, and makeup build up from your lash line. Brushing helps untangle and separate your lashes; making them look neat and clean. If you don't brush your lashes it can cause them to clump together and get unmanageable- BRUSH DAILY!

CHECK YOUR MASCARA

We really recommend avoiding mascara all together!! However sometime its hard for some to follow rules, so please check your mascaras! The mascara must be made for lash extensions. If you’re a mascara fiend, be sure only to wear a water-based mascara. This is not the same as waterproof mascara, so make sure you look closely at those labels!

Apply only one coat of lash extension-safe mascara and only to the tips of your lashes or on your bottom natural lashes that don't have extensions

AVOID LASH FRICTION

Avoid itching, pulling, rubbing or tugging on your lash area! I cannot stress this enough!! Any pulling, rubbing, or tugging can cause premature lash extension loss or worse.. natural lash loss!

MAINTAIN LASH EXTENSION REFILLS REGULARLY

All our tips are important, but this is the one that we tend to remind clients the most!  Make sure to with your refill appointments every two weeks to help you maintain a full, luscious lashes that turns heads! The longer you wait for a fill, the more your natural lashes will shed, which means more gaps in your lash line and overgrown lashes elsewhere. If you go too long without getting a lash refill, a new full set may be required, which means more time and money.

MAJOR RETENTION KILLERS

Dirty lashes, oil based products, heavy makeup, sleeping on your face, excessive sweating, eye rubbing, picking/pulling lashes, tears/crying, oily face & lids!

LASHES VS OIL

Why can't lash extensions come in contact with oil? Lash adhesive contains an ingredient called "Cyanoacrylate", which dissolves when it comes into contact with most oils (such as sebum, mineral oil, coconut oil, olive oil & canola oil.) Oil Softens the bond of lash adhesive which allows the lashes to be more susceptible to falling out.
